I dont think of him as a floater. i see him as a perimeter player the feeds he was dishing to matthews in the slot were dynamite. maybee a liitle more enganged in the d zone is needed yeah. but lots not forget he is still a rookie. if all we have is needs to be better defense wise. that is teachable.

i dont understand why nylander is being forced into a center position....... i understand he played it in junior but i think we should keep the chemistry that he and matthews had intact. giving that line a better left winger would have been the route i took. but maybe thats why i message from work rather then make those kind of decisions?

Babcock is trying to use a very tough approach on him. Putting him on the 4th line is just exposing him defensively playing with Martin and Smith. And that's exactly what Babcock wants.

He will be back up with Matthews soon enough. And I think you'll see him as the leafs best rookie offensively in the 2nd half.

Don't know where the leafs will be drafting. But would love to get Tolvanen. Could be there around the 10th pick.

I agree. I wouldn't keep him on there much longer.

But willy has played very well given who he's played with the past few games. But given that Babs wants him to improve defensively he could be there another game.

Good read Mike...Nylander needs to get a little dirtier and he will fine, maybe he's still a little gun shy since the concussion.

For matchups, I could see it working, if the 4th line had more skill. But Smith and Martin are posession black holes, so not sure why.

Who knows, maybe Nylander said he wants to play center and Babs said "ok, learn to play D first and we'll talk". Babcock did say that he needs to get a lot better at defense if he wants to be a center in the league.
